I saw this and thought to myself...man, this would make those oil changes a breeze! Thought I'd share since I know 99.9% of everyone here is a DIY type of driver. For $30 it's totally worth it IMO. www.qwikvalve.com/Feel free to move this to the proper board if it shouldn't be here.

I don't like the possibility of an errant branch or stick on the trail flicking the valve open. Very small chance, but a chance none the less. I do like the ability to put a hose on it though. If you could combine the hose option with the threaded drain plug, I would buy into that.

The valve locks which is cool. I imagine a tie wrap would keep it safe.

I like the idea of being able to hook up a drain hose to it. Would make for a less messy drain, especially if it's windy out!

I think it would be easy to flip that lock up and turn it with a stick. www.ezoildrainvalve.com/Different brand, but almost identical. At the bottom of the page, shows a way to put an extra lock on the valve. Plus, you could replace the hose barb with a plug for extra protection, but would kind of defeat the purpose of the valve by having to use a wrench. would prevent some mess though.

Seems an awful lot like a solution in search of a problem. What... there a shortage on wrenches?
No matter how many locks, it's an extension looking to get tagged by a rock.

Have one on my Cummins. Best $23 I've spent. Makes oil changes so clean. It does take awhile longer for the 11.4 litres of oil to drain though. It does stick out a ways and I would be hesitant on a off road rig.

I have one on both my Xterra and the Corolla. They've been there for 4 years with no issues. Yes, they are a bit slower, but especially on the X (aftermarket engine skid) the alternative is to drop the skids (10 bolts) or use a lot of rags. To speed up the draining you have to remove the oil cap. There is a snap ring that you can add to be sure that the lever does not move (as seen in this pic). Cost about $2-3 to add it to the valve. As greenenvy mentions, just be sure of the clearance issues. In some cases, they hang lower than the pan and could cause a major issue. There are 2 options for quicker oil changes. The valve pictured above is a Fumoto valve, but Google Femco valve for a more streamlined version. Chevystroker, this is the one you wanted and they make it already A little more expensive @ $50ish each.

Looks like the answer to the problem no one had, and an extra point of failure to boot.

Looks like the answer to the problem no one had, and an extra point of failure to boot. If you change your oil often I think it's worth it. Mine is changed monthly and in the last truck I was starting to worry about the condition of the threads from multiple torquing of the drain bolt.

Looks like the answer to the problem no one had, and an extra point of failure to boot. It's a matter of convenience, pure and simple, and most people don't ram the rear of their oilpan into anything, so it should be safe for the general populace.
