Hey all,
I'm looking at getting my first set of winter tires and rims for my '15 four door Sahara. Any suggestions on which tires are best? I've heard the BFG winter slaloms and Michelin X-ice may both be good options.
Cheers, thanks!

I prefer a more open tread than the Michelin X-ice with the amount of slush we get around here - the X-ice look like a sipped performance tire to me. Nokians are great tires if you can find them in the size you need, they have an "SUV" model of tire - check Dartmouth Surplus, they used to be the best place to get Nokians.

Are you looking at an ice/winter tire or one that you can also wheel offroad? If you are going offroad but want a tire that's 'Mountain Snowflake' rated for severe snow service, you can look into the new BFG KO2, Goodyear Duratrac, or the General Grabber AT2 which is also studdable.

I have Firestone Destination A/Ts, but as great as they are, the ice around here is their downfall. I've opted for some dedicated winters instead; Good Year Ultra Grip Ice WRT.
