APJ's put a 5.2 into a TJ recently. You could PM Mike Burke at 'Roach here on the board, or stop into APJ's and ask them about it.

What are the pro's to choose a 4.7 over some other V8? Besides having a 4.7 avail? They have a bad rep for reliability, and expensive to repair. I've driven one in a mild WJ and it felt great, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't swap one into anything, prob go with the good ol' 318. (ZJ 5.2) What trans is behind a 4.7?
4.7 Pros - all the same ones for any other V8. Its fun and powerful. 4.7 cons - reliability, expensive parts?, plastic timing chain guides.

Just because you have something doesn't mean you should use it. The wiring would be a nightmare compared to swapping in a ZJ 5.2. You'd have to deal with the security key for a start.

No that's true but I'd like to use it.. Just looking to see if anyone on here has done the swap..I agree the wiring is a pain compared the the others ..I don't wheel my jeep as hard as I used to, figure the 4.7 would be fine. Also I've never really found the parts for it that expensive, but that being said I think it had pretty good luck with them
