in the process of slowly building up my 05 LJR with a 4.0 6spd 140,000km~
got it on 35s now (14.5" wide rear superswampers, and 12.5" wide fronts)
no lift but custom fenders with cut tubs and raised fronts
stock 4.10s i dont find the gearing too high at all i actually find myself still pulling away in second often and pulling well over the rated limit on the highway without issue, it does require a downshift to 5th to maintain 110-120kph on uphill sections
ran the stock axles without issues on 35s for about a year.. in the process of trussing the axles fixxing the air lockers and replacing the worn 140,000km clutch atm
i could possibly do a full build thread when im actually finished the jeep but i dont know when if ever itll be "finished" i just enjoy trying new custom things and am constantly improving something on it
truss is a custom deal out of 5/16th plate just making templates and cutting and piecing it together.. mig welded the cast center section on the front no problem with a pre and post heat and just threw a welding jacket over it while cooling to keep air from flowing over it, also peened all the welds with an air chissel to relieve anystress directly after each pair of welds
with no lift and the body trim/custom fenders i believe 37s could easily be achieved i do rub on the froint sway bar at full lock but im running stock rims with 2" of spacers planning on getting new rims soon with enough spacing to eliminate the wheel spacers and add another 1'-1.5" of back spacing
posting this to see if anyone has any questions as alot of this is unorthodox and ive run across alot of things that poeple said could not be done this way that are working fine for me and im not easy on the rig its also a daily driver with no steering or death wobble issues yet
would like some advice and how to best regulate 90psi down to factory locker presssure and valve it out.. stock pumps are gone and stock lines are rotted out of the pumpkin.. only rust on the vehicle was around the locker pumps and axle housings.. tub is spotless
im not very active on the forums so im gonna post my number is that aloud? 780-803-8755
thanks Andrew
