thanks guys.. i don't think i wanna get into the diesel right about now.. my boyfriend just put a 5.9 turbo cummins in his and i wanna see how that goes for awhile before i go ahead with any huge changes like that.. about the 4.0, i don't really have a month to wait but if i can't find anything before that get in touch again when you take it out.. and the 360 is just too much of a pig on fuel.. but keep your ears peeled for anything else.. kinda in the market for a 302 or a 318..

I checked with my Dad. He has a few engines. Complete Carbed 305 with 700R4 trans from an 84 caprice, 206k on it, runs good. $350 obo for the engine, $250 obo trans. And I have a chev 4 spd manual trans w/bell housing from an 87 or 88 4WD, came in front of a NP208 T/C, $200 obo. This is the one with the external shifter using 3 rods to the side of the trans, which goes with it. Didn't count the splines on it, but looks the same as a TH400, bigger than a TH350 auto trans. If you are into odd engines, he has a complete carbed 307 and 700R4 from an Olds Delta 88, runs good as well, This has the 10 bolt hole universal transmission. I'd say make an offer on this one. Complete fuel injected 302 and auto trans from an 87 or 88 truck. Was running when parked, but fuel system has wiring issues now, and it doesn't have the pump hooked to it anymore. He does have a factory cast iron 4 barrel intake from a 1965 289 that will bolt onto it. A square bore 600cfm Holley on that intake will really wake up a 302. make an offer on the engine, I think he wants $120 obo for the intake. Complete 392 IH V8, was professionally rebuilt, has everything needed to run: water pump, manifolds, clutch, starter, complete top to bottom, ready to drop in. Was asking $1200 obo. We will remove valve covers, oil pan, or bearing caps as required for inspection. Yeah, I know, probably harder on gas than the 360, but it would be unique. I have a bell housing and SM420 from an IH 3/4 ton truck that would bolt up to it. But it is a 2WD trans as the truck has a divorced mount 205 in it. The engine in it is a 345, but I think it may be seized. Does this help any? ;D Wayne cell 506-364-9334
