I have to remove a right front axle from my spare jeep, 89 XJ. I looked to buy a socket 12 points, 1/2 drive tonight at 2 Canadian tires, Napa and R&A, but no luck. So anyone who has the right tools for the job = the beers is on. And if there are any parts that you need, you have a deal.

mickey try the crappy wal mart pro serie tool kit they hve the socket you need in them and they are great to bring on trail since they are cheap if you loose one
and if you want to get tha bearing off quick with out swaring a playing around with punch just put the tire on with the nut on the back off an kick the tire

I forget the name of the place But if your in the drive thu at Tims on Windmill rd and look to your right that tool shop right there has had sockets that I couldn't find at other places. Or I couldn't find with out buying a complete set. Was a hard time finding a 2 1/8" socket with out a full set purchase. They had it for a reasonable price.

You need a 36mm for the big guy. I forget if the unit bearing bolts are 12mm, 13mm or 1/2"? Sorry. I know it's 12 point. A cheap craftsman set will probably have all three Mine does, but I'm outta town all weekend. Good luck. Make sure you have a BIG breaker bar, those 36mm bolts are usually super tight.

The hub nut is a 36mm (buy a 6 piont)and the bolts holding the hub to the axle are 13mm (make sure it is 12 point) both can be gotten at Sears. That is where all of mine came from.
