well the other night i was looking at the zuki trying to figure out what to get rid of to make it lighter. so i decided to cut the rear floor out, inner wheel wells, and the complete inside of the rear sides so its just pannels and ditch the doors and tailgate, then take the rear pannels inward to dovetail it...... well it must be something about that sawzall, cause every time i pick it up i unleash something.... .... heres what it looks like now, i cut a little more than the origanal plan. ;D the plan now is to tube out the whole rear and then just plate a pannel on the sides to cover in some of the tubing. simular to what rue got there only not so narrow cause i'm not going to dovetail the frame. so the pannels will go from the door jam to the rear frame rail. heres a little quick schetch of my plan for the rear.... mike

cool man. looks like a good plan of attack. you can pretty much do whatever back there. clean slate so to speak. all you got to worry about is a few good cage tie-ins, and your all set. bring the pics!!! (we're a little dead in the fab section here! )

Here in the wizards section, we like to see any good 4x4 related fabrication. When your building custom stuff, ideas can come from anywhere. Got back to work on my bumper again today Jan, so I'll have some more pics soon.

if nothing else, mudmagnets rig is completely homemade and cheap. me likey.
if this section was busting open with jeeps, we might have an issue. but a few posts evey few months, i don't think it's a big deal.
provides some incentive to build something.
don't worry Lance, it just comes with the territory of a popular board. no biggie. Alan said it pretty good.

Don't get me wrong i don't mined the suk-liker posting his heep so much as him always dissing my fellow jeepers, alota jeep people out there that are happy with there lifts whatever they are and i just don't think that someone that doesn't even own a jeep is on the broad dissing some kids dads jeep. It's a family club and there could be alot people that are going to be offended.
I't might just be me but i don't think everyone needs to be a mechanic or build there own rig to have fun on the trail but that's just my to two cents worth.

you can make them out of ply-wood and 2x4's rico ;D heres some recent pics for you guys.... this is as far as i got before i ran out of welding wire and 1.25" pipe.... kinda sucks cause it wouldn't be so bad if i ran out of just the 1.25 cause i could start on the front hoop and dash bar(going to be 1")... but ran out of both... so i'm at a stand still.... so i made the filler plate for the rear, still gotta mount tail lights in it and also have an off-road plate on there too which i still need to get. oh, and for those of you thinking 1" for a roll cage, pipe is measured ID... so its about 1..25" OD and the main hoop and rear section is all 1.25" ID or about 1.5" OD you liky my bling bling in the back Jan;D the angled bar going from the door jam to the rear is what the side pannels are going to be attached to.

Glad to see (read) someone else getting into trouble here other than me. ;D ;D ;D. Ran my '83 CJ5 with 1"BL and 31" tires on three club runs - best time I have had in a long time - to each their own. Only plans for my new TJ is 1"BL, 2"BB, 1"MML, Disconnects and maybe 33" tires. HAKUNA MATATA boys. PS does a Budget Boost use hockey pucks? I crack myself up. lol.........................

A lot of people's rigs are too good to hack up, and they're daily drivers. Actually, most Jeeps are too good to hack up. I say, hack that Zuk til there's nothing left!
