here a few pics of some recent work tothe buggy. i got fed up with all the bent tie rods and broken end form last summer so its now hi-steer.... custom arms with 3/4" hiems, 3/4" gr 8 bolts, tie rod is 1 3/8" sched 80 pipe with 1" sched 40 inside.... drag link is 1 1/4 sched 80....the box is off a mid 80's nissan 2wd v6 truck, pump is a saganaw off a chevy 6.2 with the flow and pressure increased.... and as soon as i figure out where to drill and tap the box it will have a 1.5" bore 6" stroke ram attached for hydro assist... and the frame was choped off and a stright piece welded on to mount the box to and to increase aproach angle... the leafs are going, coils is next on my list for the front....along with moving the front axle forward 2" heres a few pic... a shot of the frame, and links... passengers side arm drivers arm and pitman arm front view hows that for apporoch angle? axle will still be 2" foward... dont' mind the color, batteries died

right on Mike. the angles look great.
lots of single shear going on tho. i'd be nervous of the pass side arm too. are you going to wheel it like that or get the ram on first?
approach angle will be "negative" lol. tires out past the bumper. awesome.

if i can find out where to dril land tap a nissan box i'll have the ram on very soon, if not then i'll be wheel ing like this... as for shear.... i think a 3/4" gr 8 bolt torqued to 150 ftlb's with lock nuts shoult hold up just fine... ;D

yeah i welded those 2 pieces of 1.25 sched 40 pipe onto the frame to hold the weight of the axle but didn't think about the arch of the spring hitting the tie rod, and it did, so i had to put some weight on the spring some how... ;D

what are the arms two toy arms flipped over? Looks like it will work out fine on the trail but i don't know if i'd trust somthing like that for a D.D. I was going to do somthing similar but decided to go with trail gear hysteer instead.
also where are you getting the ram for hydro assest, i just reas a post on the marlin board and the guy used stock toy box and pump with a 6" ram for hydro. Claims it took only 3hrs to set up.

you don't actually need ot take the box apart, i never did..... just use a speaker magnet, the ones with a hole in the center... lay that over where your going to drill and drill away, clean the magnet frenquently, and same thing while taping it..... i did it to my kick box and we did it to dales chevy and neither ever had a problem.... everything else is all the same
