Just so folks know, there will be a Jam Committee Meeting in the next short while - I haven't confirmed the date yet. Although there is no co-chair from the Valley at this point, the invitation is extended to Valley members having interest in attending in order to initiate project planning for the Jam. Please PM me and I will advise when a date has been set. The location will be in Dartmouth (future locations will be determined in consultation when the Valley co-chair is identified).
Also, any Halifax or North Nova members who would like to volunteer, please let me know via PM.
We will also be looking for trail guides in the near future. Please consider this advance notice only so that anyone interested can have the opportunity to think about it.

Not sure if you are aware or not but the preparations for this years Jam have already begun, we had our first Jam Committee meeting in January '09 ( only two members from Halifax attended: John Mason and Bob Shay) and this year's event is already in the works. The Jam Committee's next meeting will be in March at the Walker's Restaurant in Windsor where it has been for the last 6 or 7 years. It is the halfway point for committee members of both the Halifax and Valley chapters.
And contrary to your statement ; the Valley Chapter does have a Co-Chair for the Jam Committee and I will be in this position until our Chapter Meeting in March when our elections take place.
Respectfully Terry Hearn Co-Chair Jam Committee

Respectfully Terry Hearn Co-Chair Jam Committee Hey Terry, As Kevin is just getting into this for the first time, he is eager to get things going (heck it is March next week). He has wanted to do some fact-finding and get a plan together with some to-do lists etc for some time, so that when the new co-chair is elected from the Valley and the meetings start in Windsor we will have a head start and hopefully start assigning people to tasks right away. The meeting that is going to happen in Dartmouth is just that....a fact-finding meeting so he and others who have volunteered so far in this neck of the woods can get their heads around everything that needs to be done. If people from the Valley chapter would want to come then go for it, but I believe the intent was just what I have said as no decisions would be made until all chapters are involved. It was probably my fault why he was under the impression that there was no co-chair in the Valley, but it seems kind of silly to have a meeting with everyone before the new co-chair is elected down there. Granted I was hoping that it wouldn't take this long to happen and that Bruce would just step in when you stepped down because of his experience with the Jam, but the democratic process obviously takes time... ;D. Hopefully this will just be a headstart and we can all compare notes and get things on the go right out of the gate after your election. Anyway, that is my take on it and if I am incorrect in my assumptions then feel free to correct me. John

Hang on there folks. After making a number of inquiries, it was confirmed to me that there was no co-chair yet for the Valley, and given that I started getting things going. This started for me in December when I initiated the process, and have heard nothing from anyone to the contrary since then, and given the fact that there is a lot of work to do, I fully intended to start the planning process - with the intent that I could hand it over to the Valley Co-chair when elected in order to coordinate the approach. This approach was explained to certain parties, and was agreed to.
In addition, I was out of the province for the meeting in January, and I was informed that this simply was a meeting to close out business for Jam 08. If there is information to the contrary, can someone please forward me the meeting minutes so that I can get up to speed.
Given that, there was no intention to "step on toes", and I'm writing this in an open forum to express my apologies for any miscommunication. However, there will still be a meeting for the Halifax folks - mainly those who were involved in order to get me up to speed - being the person who has not had the pleasure of being on the Jam committee yet.
