Everything went well with the xfercase transplant, except for the fact that the case I put in had a vacuum switch, and I need a electronic switch to see what position I'm in. I tried to use the 242 switch, but the threaded portion is much too long. Anyone have a junked 231 with the electric switch? What I have (doesn't work with the 231) What I need. Electric tcase switch from a 231 'without' a vaccum disconnect. The dealer wants too much for these. Someone must have a busted t-case with one of these one it. I pay cash or beer!

i ran into the same problem and came up with a solution. get a nut the same thread as the switch and thread it on, then thread it back into the TC. put a little teflon tape on the switch and adjust it so it brings the light on. it`s a bit tricky to get it just right but the teflon tape will make sure it holds in place.

Makes sense. These just work by turning on lights as the ball portion is pushed in varying amounts. I'd just have to find the sweet spot by threading it in and out, and then use the nut to lock it in place. Thanks, I might try this if I can't find one for cheap.

I just put the TC in 4HI and got someone to watch the dash and threaded it in till the light came on, then tightened it down
