thanks ! rebuilding a 4 litre to put in it, timing chain will be in tomorrow. i wanted to go with a 4.5 stroker setup but turns out the 4.2 bearings have a different oil gallery than the 4.0 do. ah well, i`m going to have fun, not to try to win lol

can't you throw in some 4.0 bearings then? or does the 4.2 crank have different journal dimensions?

well i had a set of new 4.0 mains but they were for 90 and under so the tabs weren`t the same, then i tried it with the main bearings that went with the 4.0 crank and i had bind........... so long story short the 4.slow is now back in with a new waterpump lol. see yas at the track, as soon as she is running tomorrow shes going on the trailer and I am heading down the highway !!

relocated the ECM to the drivers compartment to keep mud and water away from it makeshift batterybox made from a scrap of steel and some bedframe lol, i put this together midnite friday almost finished product, after she was rode hard and put away dirty lol

no big mods this year . I gutted the box so only the sides remain, got a rebuilt 4.0 Renix i`m swapping a HO head intake and cam onto, and oh yes..... got some PIMP american racin wheels to throw on her lol pics to follow !

pulling the ole girl out for some fun this year. I have a question for my Jeep Guru`s .... planning on swapping to a 99+ intake I got off of a blown Grand. i`ve read up and it shows power gains from 15-25 HP just by swapping the intake, but I also have the Grand 2 piece exhaust manifolds and am thinking on running them on my MJ. just wondering if anyone else has tried these exhaust manifolds on an xj/mj and if there would be clearance issues. They may even be stock on 99+ Xj`s, i`m not sure . The idea of true duals just makes me all warm and fuzzy lol

You can use the pre 99 exhaust manifold with the 99 + intake
Only the one oxygen sensor on your MJ ? should be easy to figure out . Those manifolds will bolt up to your head

yeah just the one O2 sensor. I was just wondering if anyone had tried these on an XJ and got them to work. wasn`t sure if there would be enough room to pull it off but after a lil bit of digging,it can be done, just need to use a 99+ intake/exhaust gasket to make it seal
