A lot of 4-wheelers are pretty fussy on the type of oil. Most automotive oils have detergents and other junk that is good for a car, but not good for a wet clutch. It may be as simple as changing oil to a proper ATV/motorbike oil. Make sure to clean the clutches with kerosene or the like if you are changing oils.

Haven't touched this thing all summer. When last I tried it I was having issues with the hydro steering. Steering valve was not working right. SO out with the old system.... Uploaded with ImageShack.usAnd in with the steering rack that I got from Alan. Required a bit of screwing around to make it work but thanks to a suggestion from Wayne all is good now. A bit crude and "mostly" finished. Gonna try it out first before I spend too much time on it. Uploaded with ImageShack.usYou can see in this picture where I had to modify to input to correct for rack placement and linkage. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Just a question...the original rack input shaft is usally made up of 2 shafts in 1.the outer splined part and the inner part which is basically a torsion spring. The spring action causes the spool to open and close...i am just kinda wondering if there would be a noticable difference in hoe you are running it
