My basic setup is in my signature. Basically, at full flex, my tires tear the hell out of my fenders. I have painted fenders and the paint is all flaking off. No biggie, cus I plan on getting extended flares anyways (warn or xenon, not sure yet)
Anyways, I am thinking a cheap fix would be a small BL. I know that they can infuse their own set of problems, but I'm not sure of the specifics. I want some more height to clear my tires, but I want to stay low enough that the jeep doesn't look awkward. (those jeeps cruising around with 3" BL's dont look right, if you know what I mean)
I'm thinking either 1" or 1.5". Any reason why I should go bigger? Any problems aside from maby the shifter position, and fan shroud? Finally, what may be a silly question: Does a BL have any effect on your drive line angles? (Pretty sure this is a no.)
Thanks for any insight.

Jack up the axle on one side until the tire touches the fender. Then look at how far the axle is away from the bumpstop. That will give you an idea how much body lift you'll need, or how much to extend the bumpstop.
Body lift has no effect on driveline angles.

Thanks, I will check that out. Any other opinions on how big to go?

BL might not be all that cheap either rob. The lift itself may only cost you $100 but the installation may run $200-400 depending on how easy or hard those body bolts come out. I ran into a expensive change out with my YJ because of sterring, brake line and bolt complications. Just a heads up Shane

I will be doing this myself. My neighbor has a full garage, so if I run into any trouble, all the necessary tools are nearby. (welder, cutting torch, air tools ect). I have a second vehicle, so if there are complications (which I fully expect), its no biggie, I'll take my time and get it sorted.
Someone brought up the idea that a MML would be a good idea. Is this necessary? Keep in mind that my motors days are numbered, and eventually a 305 will be usurping my jeeps engine compartment, so new mounts will have to be attached anyways.

My .02 cents. unless you want to build a monster - stick with all things in moderation. 1" body lift than if flex is still an issue maybe bump stops or cut fenders. I find anything over the 1" inch body lift does look... well interesting. Personally I would not go any higher in the suspension lift either.
