Just wondering what the size of the nut is that holds the axel shaft in. I think its around 35 mm or so but not sure exactly? I used to have the right one but now have to get a replacement.

I actually tried that size but there was a bit of play when I put pressure on the breaker bar.

It is a huge nut. A small amount of play isn't going to round it off, unless it is totally rusted to smithereens. Everyone uses a 36mm. It works fine.
