With a bit of help from Bill I figured out why the amc360 distributer cap and rotor looked nothing like mine... He did the Ford TFI upgrade (i updated the front page) write up here jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=543504So I put in the new plugs the other night.. and now have the correct cap/rotor ... it is actually from a 79 Ford F350 with the 460 v8 (the write up says 86 but that is not the right button for my adapter...confused? yeah I was too ) Going to toss it on tonight and go for a spin... the old plugs/cap/rotor weren't looking too good. Also, going to reset the quadrajet to factory settings now that my vacuum leak (headers) are gone... it is running rich. oh... and on an exciting note I have a new legit 2 YEAR INSPECTION!

Alright... so everything is going smoothly so far. Things left to do: 1. Hydro clutch 2. Clean up the interior (shift boots, couple small holes in fiberglass floor, seats replaced, floor scrubbed out and some sort of sound deadening coating ) 3. Patch both fiberglass fenders... and a scuff on the rear right corner 4. sand/paint the exterior (pics of color below ) 5. New tires in the spring... 34 LTB's maybe or Special Service... My own little army of 15 green cans lol

I'll be very surprised if you can fit those 34's in the rear. The 33x10.5's rub occasionally now where the seat clearance is inside the fender, and they are not a true 33" tire. I would expect you'll be looking at moving the axle back... and then you may run into gas tank clearance issues.
Hope it does work out for you those... those are an awesome tire, and was always my plan to someday fit them.

Interesting... obviously lots of room in the front... i will have to take a better look at the rear. I may end up going with the KM2's 33x10.5 ... is there a problem with running the 10.5 wide in the front? Or did you put x9.5 on to help save front axles?
I have been driving around and tuning the carb this afternoon... I think I have it dialed in nicely. Thx to the internet guru's

LOL... something like that. Don't you have used appliances to track down?
The 33x10.50s would be fine all around. Two of my original 9.5's got cut/punctured enough to need replacements... and the 9.5's were no longer made at that time.

I really like Krylon paint but find it turns out way nicer if you use their grey primer. It doesn't like shiny surfaces.

The 34x9.5 SS would be perfect. I will take Bill's word for it that they will not fit... I mentioned this to Mike and the first word out of his mouth was sawzall The BFG's still have some life in them so I don't have to decide just yet... thx for the offer on your spare, I appreciate it. Hawks - I plan on getting that paint pretty dull before I spray but you are right I should prime it..

Just sprayed a new steel house door and after a few attempts I primed the whole thing and started over, worked much better.
