A-Frame for a snow plow ?? yup. Its for my CJ. hangs from front leaf hangers. I was looking at quad plows, and how they mount on the hitch, and sling under the frame. Looked like it would work good scaled up some. Didn't want a bunch of brackets on the front, and its hard to apply force without big drop brackets. So I'm gonna try this. Jealousy used for good is a powerful initiator.....(Glen). ;D

You're welcome. ;D
So the bends down from the mounting points are gonna take all the force? You going to gusset them?
Perhpas I'm not understanding the setup. LOL

yes, big tube gussets, like a cage. It would fold up pretty easy as it is now. That's just the first part.

Sweeeet! Gonna make your own blade, or buy one?
I picked mine up for $75... but it was in the "off season". Might be hard pressed to find a deal now.

Make my own. I was looking at the neighbors old beat up gear, its all too heavy. Sure , he has 8 of them sitting there, but none are any good for me.
I'm worried about it not having a trip blade. quads don't?

I'm worried about it not having a trip blade. quads don't? The one's I've seen do. How smooth is your driveway? If there aren't any rocks that could get dug up you might be ok without. Run shoes until you've got a base down then you're golden.

I'm worried about it not having a trip blade. quads don't? Quads do have a trip. I installed mine just now and was going to take a pic but I don't have a camera right now. The only time it trips is when I push too hard against something that won't move or hit a rock, I have a couple of those in the driveway. Skids are more important, if the ground isn't frozen you'll end up skinning the top off the driveway.

the pads are easy to make with a couple of pieces of pipe in the press, FYI, if you need them but don't have them. I made a set once at school for my instructor's friend, used a peice of 2" pipe on the bottom, with a piece of 1/4" plate pressed down by a piece of 1 1/4" pipe. did a great job of it, and real easy.

the trip isn't hard to build, if you make it so the whole blade trips. i just put a snow bear on my tracker...... hopefully it'll do for the little stuff, big stuff, i'll grab the f-250.
you should post some of this up on plowsite.com

You can buy new springs at PFT (or any plow dealer), I wouldn't use it without a trip.
The snow bear will do the job for you Bill, all I've used here last few years.
