About a year old now. gotta replace the grates soon. roller loader. Its hard to load a sheet of 3/16 or 1/4" I made new slats that run the other way, so the material slides on, instead of hitting every single slat. no pic yet.

gotta replace the grates soon. Pffft! Looks brand new... At least compared to the places where I have worked! Lots of life left. ;D

Can you flip the slats over? Or is there crap melted down all over them? Cut pattern on the table looks familiar. Send me a PM when ready and I'll arrange for pick up. Jonathan

Too much crap to flip them over. The grate needs to be removed to clean out the slag anyway. There was about 10lbs, not too bad at all.
The water drain system worked perfectly, first time using it. It took very little air pressure to put the water back up to the tray from the 60G tank.

My Powermax45 was having some issues, so it is in at Harris' for warranty work. Plasma table will be down for a bit - so I did like we do at work - upgrade and preventative maint. during times of unpredicted maintenance. Investing in some 'new to the market' hardware and software from CandCNC to increase production time and reduce scrap and required tuning input. Its just great for the hobby CNC market to have this stuff coming out all the time. I will have the capabilities and options only previously available on $50-$100K machines. It's amazing how fast the upgrades come. The CandCNC DTHC revolutionized home plasma cutting just over the last 2 years, and its still coming. (no pics right now) - Xbox360 remote pendant is installed for positioning axis. I will be able to write macro's for the buttons to perform machine commands like 'home' or 'fire torch'...from 30'. ;D - Smart-Kut software installed as an option on the digital torch height control, it helps set the preset voltages for controlling tip height. This will allow self-learning of the tip voltage and reduce my tuning input significantly. - Fine Cut consumables - gearing up PM30 consumables in the PM45 machine torch, to allow 30Amp cutting in thin sheetmetal with much better resolution, smaller kerf, and less heat. This will greatly clean up the Celtic stuff and add detail. - DCP - Digital Current Probe - Adds an actual measured cutting current DRO to the Mach3 software. Monitor real-time amperage output of the torch instead of relying on the plasma machine's knob. Is also used an an ark OK signal that will tell if the material has a bad ground or the amperage is set wrong. Just mailed some circuit boards to Texas for exchange on the DCP, they do a free exchange of the upgraded board with purchase of the current probe (DCP) option. Will report on the Hypertherm issue, so far the service has been great. They didn't mind all the wires hanging out the back of it. Waiting to hear what is wrong with it. I intend to be running again next week with the upgrades installed. Think Xmas! ;D

interesting. smaller tips for a finer cut eh...... never heard of doing that on a plasma... course, without the cnc, one wouldn't notice the difference...
hope they get ya repaired and up and running soon.....

Yes, they have a smaller nozzle orifice, and you run 'em at 30A.

wireless remote Smart-Kut ground clamp sucked to clamp to the sheet metal and you'd have to get your hand wet to reposition, and sometimes it would move the material. This thing is good for 200A. And I like the POWERFIST logo on a highly visisble part of the table. lol spring loaded brass contact. ps - heading in to Burnside to pick up my Hypertherm after service. I can't wait to find out what was wrong. 3.5 day turnaround from Harris.

I just picked up one of those magnetic mounts as well - let me know how it works

it won't ground good enough through the table?
i've never been a fan of those magnetic clamps.... i think ours when out with the scrap...

it won't ground good enough through the table? i've never been a fan of those magnetic clamps.... i think ours when out with the scrap... Consider my usage on clean sheets of flat steel. Many warning not to clamp to the table. High Frequency plasma noise vs. motors and electronics. The grounding rules are well defined, you isolate the pc/drives/power supply/monitor to the Ac circuit in the wall. The table moving parts and plasma chassis are all into a 6' grounding rod to earth. So you have two grounding circuits to isolate the high frequency so your motors don't run crappy and the software communication is stable. Clamping to the work is important for clean voltage feedback for the height control system too. It will be very obvious if the mag. clamp isn't working, there is a test sequence with the digital current probe that's on order. That's what it does, that's its job. To measure amperage and detect proper ground. It outputs signals to stop cutting if there are ground issues. right smart. My Hypertherm PM45 is back from repair at Harriss' 3 day turn around, free of charge, and quite cheerful and helpful. This is why I paid for a Hypertherm. It is the first unit the dealer had come back, and Harriss said they don't see much of them either. Guess I got lucky. They put a new main circuit board in it, in house. No shipping it to the States and taking a month or more and shipping charges and crap. So bad that it failed, but they really took care of it.

that makes sence, never thought about the high frequency and the computer..
