Noice! I thought about getting one once as well. But for me it would have been just a toy. Big plans? Going into production on something? Can I place an order for hot-rod parts yet? Gonna be able to support autocad or solid works files?

AutoCad for sure, that's what i will be designing with, been taking the course at NSCC all fall to brush up on lost skills. I don't use it at work.
I believe the Sheetcam software will be able to produce toolpaths from many different types of input files, or a scanned pic, or I can make a CAD drawing from your measurements on a paper napkin.
AutoCad - for design SheetCam - also for design and generating toolpaths. Can use many types of input files. Mach3 - controller software, for reading the toolpaths and operating the motor drives, positioning and plasma.
i will be able to produce parts as accurately as you can measure them.

are you buying a ready made table drive system, or is this gonna be a complete self fab table? how big of a table are you going to have?
i know russel metals claims 0.010" over a 40' x 8' sheet, with thier new laser
on a side not, i see they've developed a h20 cooled plasma torch sheild that can pierce up to 1 1/2" mild steel. figuring they can get upto 2" with that tech.

Going with a water tray too. Electronics and drives and software all come with kit. 4'x4' table is all i can fit in the shop, and still fit a Jeep. It will actually cut like 52x52 or something, so i can cut from the edge on a 4x4 plate. It will fit 4 beadlock rings. Hypertherm Powermax45 is quite the little unit. very powerful, the "internet" users are saying its very underrated from the published specs. 1/2" all day, 1" severance and 3/8" mechanized pierce from Hypertherm - 'net guys are severing 2", and piercing 1/2". More than i'll need for automotive stuff.
