detail shots of the Hypertherm Powermax45 with machine torch.
Linde (formerly BOC Gases) on Thornhill hooked me up nicely on this unit. I buy my welding supplies there, they know my face. Talk to Luke and name-drop the "Jeep Club guy, Jan" and you might get a deal.
Linde price-matched and then undercut LiquidAir when i found a better price on sale at another store. Excellent service there always. unlike the grumps at LA.
the machine torch is purchased seperately. It was a better deal to buy the 45 on sale with the handtorch, then add the machine torch, than it was to buy the the 45/machine torch combo. Two weeks to get it in.

very very compact unit. This thing is twice as powerful as my 380, which is a lot bigger.
comes with Dire Straits headband.
big mama-jammer plug. 60A/220V
computer interface for plasma on/off, digital torch height control voltage signals.
All machines should have this. Welders too. Quick disconnect for torches.
hhmm, a low pin. I caught this at Linde and they assured me free repair/replacement if it was an issue. I chose to take it home and fiddle with it first.
lets dis-assemble something we know nothing about when its brand new!
looks scary. But it just pushed back in.
excellent manual, and some free consumables from Linde.
$2688.00 tax in. i sold my FSJ and some blood down the clinic.
you are going to see some big $#'s here.....I'm not rich, (but I have a good job) and I'm not using credit. I've been working and saving my ass off for YEARS to do this. Its not like one day I felt like exploding my credit card. this is the result of a lot of hard work and sacrifice on other stuff like eating out, new clothes, vacations, drinking (pretty much quit) or having a truck payment.
A lot of my friends have really come on board and offered stuff that helps me out bigtime. i didn't even ask for some of it, it was offered. Other stuff i bought and always got a lowball deal.
[glow=red,2,300]BIG6[/glow] - bigtime! phenomenal help on the air system. (pics later)
[glow=red,2,300]T-Dogg[/glow] - also a huge help. Installed 60A/220V circuit and sourced all materials thru contractors pricing.
Scottanche - little things daily. blunt opinion. smokes. steel. grunt.
RallyRoach - a PC to run the system, custom built.
SecureKey - LCD monitor (i barely know the guy) Len offered one too after he heard i needed one.
Beth Anne - my girlfriend who put up with never being taken anywhere to do anything since September when i started getting balls deep into this. Very supportive. Well i did go to that play. heh heh.
Thanks all, i'm just getting into the meat of this project now....look forward to helping you all out on your projects when this thing is running.
