After the rain storm and subsequent freezing my lock mechanism in both my driver & passenger front door have frozen up. They wont latch until the inside of the Jeep heats up for a while. I have tried spraying stuff like Honey Goo & WD40 to displace the moisture but it hasn't worked out very well. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what did you do to fix it permanently?

I have the same problem - on the door above the latch mechanism there is a plastic plug, pull it out and spray something in there (Fluid Film is good) after its warmed up....I have just been shooting the propane torch in there until I see the mechanism move LOL

I have had good luck with an off the shelf lock de-icer. One that has the little pointy tip for shooting into keyholes.

From you mentioning the torch I am assuming the outside one? I have had good luck with an off the shelf lock de-icer. One that has the little pointy tip for shooting into keyholes. I have used that stuff for years and it has worked great, but wouldn't you know it my stocks in that product have been depleted, lol.

X2 just tape it under your hood, or in the back of the rim on your spare ;D ...ahh just saw you have a zj, so no opening of the hood without getting in, and no spare to speak of on the back lol... Just keep some on you I guess!

On mine, when I press the button to open the door, the button is coming back out but the mechanism inside the door isn't so I can't close the door and have it latch. The access hole I'm speaking of give direct access to the back of the outside door handle and the attached mechanism.
