I've got a TJ, so no fancy extra doors for me, but I really like the looks of them. ;D From what I've read their very capable. Here's a nice little blurb from jeepforum comparing a wrangler x to a rubi unlimited: www.jeepforum.com/forum/f96/2-door-x-vs-4-door-rubicon-584412/That's just some guy's opinion, but sounds pretty sensible to me.

The 4 doors are almost as capable as 2 drs. The only draw back it the break over angle and turning radius is not as good. The long wheel base pays off on hill climbs and there is lots of room for passengers and gear.
Love mine.

I liked the 4dr. Its a little long in the tight and twisty woods wheeling and shines everywhere else off road. On road its a better riding rig and has more space then the 2dr all the way around.
PS... I drove a 2dr 6sp sport with the Pentastar on the weekend. Nothing to write home about in the power dept, not at least according to the seat-of-the-pants feel.

The angle of the control arms makes for a very comfortable on road feel, as well as really smooth off road. I would buy a second one in a heart beat if I could. The amount of room in them is incredible.

Well I can't speak for everybody's 3.8, but yes mine has burned a quart of oil in the 6000km I've put on it (68,000 on the odometer in total).

i have the 2012 jk with the pentastar and on bottom end I found it felt like it had a bit more go than the 3.8. I really noticed a difference on the highway, especially when passing.
