I am going to look at an 03 Rubi this weekend and was wondering about the problem areas in TJs. All my experience has been with XJs and ZJs. Any insite from anyone here would be much appreciated.

Drivetrain is about the same (except for the lockers and 44s), rust on the tops of the fenders, coil buckets rusting. Check the oil pan too, seems those TJs don't leak enough oil and the pans rust out

Frame in front of and behind the coils where it dips down - body just infront of rear fender cutouts underneath rockers, short section maybe 3-4" long rusts out - crossmember that holds up gastank - front driver side windshield frame in lower corner - always check the floor

Make sure you hear the pump for the lockers working as well.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem

Make sure you hear the pump for the lockers working as well. x2 - if you turn the key on you can cycle the locker pumps (might need to be in low range IIRC) and you should be able to hear the pumps come on for a couple seconds. James

in the back , just before the frame swoops up for the coils , those holes seem to be the start of a rotten frame
