Spent the weekend fixing the mistake of my forms bowing out during the pour. First I chipped the edge at a 45 with a cold chisel. Then cleaned up with end mini-grinder with a masonry disk. Then I spray-foamed any gap between the plate and concrete, and tarred a neoprene flashing over the concrete/plate seam. Hopefully that'll keep the rain out. :S

Oh, I missed the chipping and angle grinding! Looks like the fix will work great. The issue would have been water standing and rotting the plate? wicking up the chipboard?

Yeah, those are the issues I'm trying to avoid, along with just general water creeping under the plate onto the shop floor. Hopefully this will work.

Roofing lately. Cedar (deck board) fascia, drip edge, and ice shield: Sorry, I didn't take many pictures lately. Shingles on, getting ready for ridge vent cap. I'll never do a 12/12 pitched roof again. Such a pain in the arse crawling up and down those brackets all day long. My legs were killing me. Ripped a 45 to try and make a neater peak, but ended up not needing it 'cuz I changed my cap vent. Roof done, wrapping going on. To come: Finish the wrapping and strapping, backfill, and install the doors. Then I think I'll pause for the winter and let my bank account recover.

12/12 is steep. I find it a little scary to, long way down from the steep roof!

12/12 is steep. I find it a little scary to, long way down from the steep roof! Hehe, yeah it's a long ways down, for sure! I don't really mind the heights, it's just such a pain in the arse working on it. Trying to climb up and down the bracket staging with an armload of shingles... Only able to stand at 1 level, so you're working right at your feet a lot of the time... Set the hammer down wrong and it's on the ground... That kind of shit. My next shop will be different.

I put 6/6 pitch on my roof , that was tough to shingle , mind you it was dead heat of summer , the shingles were literally melting under our feet . I stepped on the air hose a few times and almost fell
I wouldn't want to be doing a 12/12 pitch at all !
