One of these days, I am going to feel really bad about wringing out the neck of a Parts desk guy.
I go in with my control arm (local leaf spring repair shop), friendly as can be. I say hey, this is a stretch but I would like to replace this poly bushing with a solid rubber press in type bushing like you find in leaf springs.
Buddy looks at it, asks me what its out of and right THEN i knew I wasn't getting out of there with anything other than frustrations.
I said it's from a Jeep but it doesn't matter, I just want to see if I can find a bushing that fits from another application. Do you have a box of them I can sort through? He said yeah, but I don't want you running all over the shop (understandable) I said ok, well here it is here is the diameter and depth, tell me whether or not I am wasting your time? He looked at it again, sucked some air thru his teeth and told me to try Carquest or Serious Sounds.
What's going on with Parts guys? is it just us Jeep guys asking too much? or is no one willing to go the extra mile these days?

T&R? Theyre usually pretty good, althou there is one pissy dude that always gets his panties in a bunch when he has to make change.
Have to google aorund and find what OE application has what your looking for then just call in an order and not have to deal with the pinhead.
Carquest has been great for digging through stuff and mix and match parts when piecing togethre the heep.
I can't speak for their stock on bushings though.

Yeah it was T&R. I will have to do the research, you're right Car quest was always good to me. I was looking for my output seal and they ordered everything in under the sun to get one to fit.

If you go to: www.sdtrucksprings.com/bushings , there are two links to the different bushing sizes available. 1st link, Harris bushings, are the individual rubber bushings. 2nd link, rubber bushings, has the different sizes of steel sleeved bushings available. For Halifax, there is a spring shop on Robie that has reasonable prices on them, and Parts for Trucks can order them in, just a few more dollars. They didn't have the exact length I needed for my TJ arms, so I ordered longer ones, steel sleeved, and cut them down to length. They worked fine. I didn't know about the list of Harris bushings at the time, they might flex a bit better, if you have inner sleeves to put in them.
