I have skyjacker arms and would like to replace the crap red poly nylon shit bushings with OEM style press in rubber ones.
If I measure the diameter and depth of the hole is it possible to buy the rubber bushing and metal insert? (excuse my newb terms) Can anyone provide a location in which a fellow such as myself could purchase these?
As you can tell i've neglected my Jeep over the last year and will be using this winter to catch up on some nagging issues.

Skyjacker uses a size of their own , so they are not a standard size

yeah those are the stupid ones that I didn't want. But it looks like i may have to replace with. I was hoping for solid rubber like the oem that seem to last forever.
Good to know you can get them I'll also be doing my RC arms at the same time! Thanks Jason

Leaf spring bushings could work if there is a size comparable to the SJ arms. Any leaf spring shop can get them
I tried them and didn't like them so I went back to poly

How much work are you willing to do? Chop off the ends of the arms and weld on something like this: www.metalcloak.com/2-5-8-OD-x-2-5-8-W-Duroflex-Joint-2-5-8-Housing-p/7300.htmWatch your bracket widths, I think stock width is 2 5/8... This is probably more $$ than it's actually worth though. So clearly your only option is to rebuild with stock bushings, sell your kit and go to long arms. Jonathan

T&R truck has many different sizes of Clevite bushings for cheap, take an arm in or give them a diameter and they will be able to help you out.

Good call Moe! When scott mentioned a spring repair shop I thought of them immediately but didn't remember the name. Not too far from my work either! I'll have to take a swing by.

If you are running a 4"lift it doesn't matter what bushing you put in there it is going to fail quickly. The problem is poor geometry, when you hit bumps the suspension is transfering some of the energy into the link instead of the coil. What you need is longer control arms, to try and lessen the effect caused by the lift. We have had many long arm kits run as a DD for many years with poly bushings and had no issues.
