I was at CT in Tanatallon this morning and they had a mini Gerber Apocalypse kit on sale. Regular $99.99 for $29.99. It had the Gator Machete Pro with sheath and the DMF Manual 3.5" knife. Guess it was a post apocalypse sale LOL They also had the DMF Manual knife on sale from $49.99 to $14.99 - got one of those for Josh, should have got the kit and I may go back and get it, but I just couldn't figure out why I'd need the Machete.

Heh, I got the kit for xmas. The knife is nice and clips in your pocket, and the machete looks good for trailclearing, the hook will delimb trees with a downward slash.

The machete will get caught in the dead flesh and pull the zombie towards you. And its short, striking distance is dangerously close. I wouldn't use it for hand to hand combat.

no point, it would suck for throwing.
but all that aside, its probably pretty good at de-limbing alders, the scorn of 4x4's everywhere.
