Just wanting thoughts on running shocks the opposite way?Not wanting to flip mine but soon lifting LJ.Some new kits out have shocks you can run either way. There claiming better ride with shaft end down?Just run the back in front and front to back to flip?Anyone running their jeep this way?

MY rears ran upside down for years, no issues. They r just cheap hydro's I think.

These shocks I seen are specifically designed to run shaft end down.Wondering I guess if there may be a benefit from shaft end down?

I think the idea behind making off road shocks that run shaft down is that it keeps the body of the shock up out of harms way.
Most shocks can only be run one way. Tracy tried to run some regular RC shocks shaft down last year at Jam. They didn't work that way at all, it was like riding in a boat on rough water!

It's actually the RC shock that there saying to run this way.I have a copy of a press release they put out on mounting shock.Paragraph three is where they explain about shock. Also in there pics of kit on TJ the shocks are shaft down?

Yes, the ones built to run shaft down should be run that way, but ones that aren't (like the ones Tracy tried) should not be.

Some the valves work both ways, some don't. You'll know quick enough if it doesn't. Bouncy bouncy.

Also with the body of the shock attached to the jeep it sheds off unsprung weight.
