Well, I took my 14 year old son out on a really light wheeling run close to home. Itwas my first run since I was 20 something in my first jeep ever, wow it brung back some good ol memories AND.... I think I have another wheeling junkie in the works. My son absolutely loves it. I was driving like an old lady and he still got a rush out of it LOL. My jeep is stock now. Can't wait to start doing upgrades.

That's how I got into Jeeps. My father has a CJ2A that he bought a few years before I was born. I remember being only a couple of years old, sitting on the tailgate of it, and Dad driving it around the yard, hauling bricks and other things in the back. the tailgate was so big back then, there was a stack of bricks beside me, and still room enough for me to slide back and forth. I played in it as a kid, after he stopped driving and using it, and when he bought an M38, I played with that, and learned how to drive in that. I plowed the driveway in the M38 at the age of 11, and by 12 or 13, I was making mud holes in the field to burn through. My infatuation with Jeeps just continued to progress from there, now I own a few of my own, he owns 16 or 18, and we have more projects than either of us could ever handle.
Having a Jeep was probably the best part of my youth. I learned so many things from them. I hope you can keep him involved, they are truely a great way to bond with, and learn from.

My older son (about to turn 13) is hooked too. He has driven quite a few trails over the couple years and does really well, but I still do the harder parts. He's definately not afraid of the Jeep, but now it's getting be time for him to learn about FIXING the Jeep. He is also a good photographer on the trail, when I'm allowed to drive !! Good to know you've got a co-pilot. Teach him well and enjoy the times.

John Cranfield told me something years ago that always holds true...
As slow as possible and as fast as necessary.

"As slow as possible and as fast as necessary."
That never worked for me!
The only way that works for me is " rev. limiter, rev limiter..."
