So when do the "not-so-stock-doable" trails start to get run? I know most, if not all, of the club runs are stocker runs but it just seems like there's no harder trails being run nowadays.....or maybe they're just not being posted. Maybe it's just the other summer activities people are doing or maybe people are still broke from Jam. I'll try and keep going to the club stock runs once a month but it would be nice have some other's in between with a little more of a challenge **cough Curse cough**. Just saying.....

2WD is your friend on the Club runs man. haha....Ya I know. One's I've done...most in 2WD. So why aren't some of the club runs made up of some of the moderate to harder trails? Might have more of the "veterans" or more capable rigs come out more to the club runs. Or are the runs more geared towards getting the newcomers and stockers out and wheeling as they may not know many people or trails to go out outside of the club runs. Seems like it's a little quieter around here then it was back in the day IIRC. Sorry for bringing this up if this has already been talked about since I was last here 6 years. Can't you tell I've been out of wheeling for too long. I'm just itching to get out!! hahaha

There is nothing stopping you from putting something together and inviting one & all that want to try. Just be sure to note that the trail is not a stock-friendly/doable trail.

I've done it a few of times....bugged a few people. No bites. My problem is I've been out for so long that either I don't remember how to get to the past trails or don't know the new ones at all. I try to see if anyone else is going out and I tag along.

Can't you tell I've been out of wheeling for too long. I'm just itching to get out!! hahaha Basically monthly club runs are done on a easy to moderate level to introduce new people to wheeling and those of us with experience to get together for a fun day on the trail. Keep in mind that a lot of the newer jeepers that are coming out on club runs are new to this sport, and are also driving brand new $30,000 stock jeeps. For them the club runs are a challenge. What we consider an easy trail can be a white knuckle drive for them. As for veteran jeepers coming out on club runs I see them there all the time. Some try to get out every month, some only make it a couple times a year. All the same to me, I love seeing them coming to the club runs, and I'm sure the newbies love seeing their rigs and what they could also do to their own jeeps in the future. Now it has been mentioned to me in the past about "stepping up " the monthly club runs and making them more of a challenge. On average we usually have between 14-25 jeeps on club runs and have had as many as 38. Having a trail with that many jeeps and doing a club run with a higher difficulty personally I think could become a nightmare. Just picture doing the curse with 20 jeeps, half with no lockers, and 5 of them with little experience. Or bump and grind in the winter with 2 feet of snow and ice (yes we do get snow lol) So lets split the club runs, and have a newbie section, and a experienced group and do 2 different trails. Well I have 2 thoughts on this one. First off, IMO club runs are for getting together for the day with like minded people and heading out on the trails to play with our rigs and share our knowledge with the newer people to the club. People do this every week with their street bikes in Bedford, and almost every night at Tim Hortins in fall river. Only difference is we do it once a month, on the trails as easy as they seem to the more modified jeeps. Second is this. The Halifax chapter and as far as I know the other chapters have 2 trail masters each. When club runs are going to be done that coming month we pre run them. Now having a second more difficult trail also means another trail to pre run. Now the day of the club run the trail masters would have to split to cover both trails. Not really sure if that is fair to the trail master, considering that in the event of a major breakdown we rely on each other to insure everyone gets out ok. So your wanting a harder trail, James said it pretty well in the above posting. Pick a trail that you would like to do, post the name of the trail and when you are going. Then repeat, each time you will be heading out. You only need one other jeep to go on your run to make it a safe day out. Just make sure the jeep going is capable of doing the trail safely. And this also goes for anyone here.( I was asked about this last week at coffee night and the person wanted to know if they could post up a jeep run.) If you want to do a trail that is outside of the monthly club runs post it up. ANYBODY can orgainize a jeep run. Pick a location and a date and get er done. Have fun folks, explore, take pictures and share your adventure.

we have been itching to get out on a harder run, curse, but it seems work, life, and other interests get in the way - one more weekend of "other interests" and we should be ready to let loose on the trails - and I will be posting it up

No firm date set yet, but there is a 100% chance that I'm running Broken Yoke one weekend in August. Likely one of the two middle of month weekends. I've mentioned it casually to a few fellas and they are in, and I'll extend this invitation to anyone who wants to come. Goes without saying that this day will not be a "Jeep" run, anybody driving any built rig is welcome.
There is a formal run of Broken Yoke scheduled during Fall Colors in October, but like I told Brandon, this trail is way too awesome to only run once per year.
I'll post up in Trail Rides section when we have a day nailed down.

It is hard to get out some years. Work, kid, house. That's so true, some years it seems like everyone has time for it, others no one does. It seems like this year is one of those busy ones, at least for me it is! Still plan to get out on a couple harder trails during the summer, probably do Crusher sometime in August.
