So just curios about the axles in my Jeep. Do all the new wranglers have the Dana 44 rear axle? Also on the features list for my Jeep it said Dana 33 front axle, I though they came with a Dana 30? I ask because my dad and I got into a discussion about what my new Jeep had. And just want to clear it up.
Also I though the hill start assist stayed on till you hit the gas or let off the clutch a bit. Mine seems to only last maybe a second, and doesn't work at all on some hills, that are not even that steep.
Any info is appreciated, Thank you in advance

The paper that was on the window says "Next generation Dana 33 solid front axle". But says nothing about the rear except the ratio. Is the front 33 something that was added for 2013? I never heard of it and assumed I had the 30, till I looked at the paper because I was bored.

My hill assist seems to pick and choose when to work on the small hills. When it does work it's a few seconds after I come off the break before it lets go (unless I get on the gass first) Been driving mine for just over a year now, the hill assist still catches me off guard sometimes, lol who doesn't like stalling out in a crowded parking lot!

That is exactly what mine does. Sometimes I won't even be on a hill, and it engages. Then when I'm in traffic on a hill with some idiot almost touching my spare tire. It won't hold at all lol.

Is there a way to turn the hill assist off? Everytime I stall it's because of the stupid hill assist! and it is so embarassing when there are tons of people around! LOL

Yeah mine is disabled. You can do it threw the steering wheel menu button and selecting personal settings. It can only turn if off when vehicle isnt moving

Hill asist is horrible unless you can't drive a manual. Just youtube how to disable it and it's crazy stuff like turn vehicle off , apply parking brake, turn wheel to left then right and hit your traction control button 4 Times and it really works. Mine is disabled and like it way better that way.

Yeah you are right. Basically there are too many bells and whistles on the new jks. Thats true but over time all the bells and whistles will get dissabled and/or broken and a "real" jeep will emerge I sure will miss my heated seats on the cool doorless mornings lol
