Need ideas.
Been looking at the idea of building a small mid engine buggy like the old moon buggies. Looking at the Sammi axles under the kids buggy but they are quite small so I don't think would hold up to bigger tires.
What other kinds of axles would be good? A couple front Toy axles? Didn't the Cruisers have front and rear off set axles at one time?
Trying to avoid having to build another set of custom axles.

Toyota Land Cruisers had diffs offset to the passenger side, but can be hard to find. Any Jeep product with the quadratrac T/C will have the axles offset to the passenger side, such as Wagoneers and cherokees. Early jeeps were offset to the right as well.

The early cj's had a passenger offset 44 rear, and I think even a 40(?) rear before 1949. They had weaker 10 spline and 19 spline axles. 1970-71 had a 1 piece flanged 30 spline passenger side drop before they changed to a centered diff/Dana 20. But they're hard to come by. Herm the OD guy makes a 30 spline 1 piece (Maybe even a full float) conversion for the early ones.

Thanks for the thoughts. Trying to stay away from D44's. A bit too weak for what I want. Seen them break too easy.
I was quite impressed at the abuse toy axles can stand so kinda leaning that way. But I am just in the "thinking about it" phase right now!

The FS Cherokee/Wagoneer rear axles were offset as Chevystroker said, one that I saw had a a D60 rear I think. Thought it was 6 bolt but might be 8. It would be free if it's still in the pit where I saw it last. It may even be buried in scrap.
Toys would probably be best bet.
