Anyone watch Alaska Off-Road Warriors on The History Channel? I just got through all eight episodes and found it pretty good. They were trekking through some beautiful and rough country. Most of the cast were pretty good people but I found that Jason who drove the Range Rover was a huge ass. I was rooting for Butch & Bill in the Toyota Land Cruiser named "War Wagon" but was happy to see that the "Super Jeep" (a '54 CJ I believe) had taken the win. I thought that the "land anchor" tool was a pretty cool device to use when there isn't any trees or rocks to winch off. Overall it was a good show, a bit cheesy at times but I liked it. I have watched all of it & I enjoyed it. A whole lot of unnecessary drama, but it beat the other shit on TV...

Caught it too... not too bad at all. Google up the "pull-pal". Once you see the price you'll see why they're not more common.

Pull Pal RW11,000 - $359.95 each.
Pretty costly, I probably should have one. I'm often suck in a field lol.

USD's... then add shipping/duty for a big chunk of metal.
Would be handy in a bog if you're routinely by yourself. Most times it'd be easier to attach to a tree or other Jeep, rather than haul this thing around all the time.
Building one yourself, or having one made locally would be the way to go.
Was neat to see them used on the show. I've always wondered how likely they were to pull out and then fly at you under load. Didn't seem to be an issue.

there's an anchor that resembles the pullpal; don't remember what it's called but it works the same way for a ship - and a lot, lot less cash

I like the show. I think they focus on drama too much just like the other reality tv shows. But I do enjoy the show other then that. The Rover driver is an A$$. The older Leigh brother (Brent I think) seems to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
I would love to do that trip at a more enjoyable pace to enjoy at area. I wouldn't be too excited to be in the muskeg but other then that it looks interesting.
