I'm looking for someone or a shop to reassemble my amc 20 and Dana 30. I have all new bearing seals and crush sleeve. I have already taken them apart sandblasted and cleaned them. I'm just not sure how to reassemble any help would be great thanks

I don't suppose you marked the parts as you took them off ? bearing retainers ? which side and axle they came from ? etc If your really going to 35 in tires , now is the time to do a gear swap and put in some 4.56 gears and ditch the 3.31's or sometimes the 2.89's

Yes I labeled all parts. And I have the gear ratios rear is 3.54 and front is 2.73 if I did the math right pinion teeth divided by ring gear teeth? The only thing I forgot was too record rotational torque before I took them apart. And didn't label end play shins on the rear but have new ones

It would be ok if he runs 35s in the back and 27s in the front though.

Look for the numbers on the ring gear... divide. ie: 41/11 = 3.73 Bill

Thanks Scotty and bill for the good info. We rebuild the dana 30 yesterday and everything went together good. Next is the rear diff. What should the rear pinion nut but be torqued too???

What did you get for back lash on the front ? how was the tooth pattern ? what did you have for drag on the pinion ? there are soo many variables when setting up gears that one answer asks more questions . pinion nut is some where around 300 ft pds , and pinion drag around 15 in pounds . but if the pinion shims are improperly set , that throws those numbers off and wont be right and will cause premature bearing wear and destroy your gears

This is why for these matters my daily driven Jeep came to you for pinion bearings ...
