I posted this question in another thread but thought I should just make my own so here it is... My ehaust manifold has at least one crack in the Y-joint. I know that I can get this welded up and planed too. But also where it joins the front pipe the bolts are coroded and loose and it is leaking. Anyone know if I would need a new manifold or would I get away with just replacing the front pipe? Or worse; both?

If you do need to replace the pipe... I seem to remember that they're actually pretty cheap from the dealer... This was a number of years ago though that I did this.

so it is also leaking where the header meets the exaust front pipe? new bolts usually work.
its just a metal to metal flair, it's squeezed closed by the bolts......the bolts get bad from the heat.

87 to 90 did have a donut, 91 to I guess 96 didn't (just a permanent steel one).

So the bolts aren't permanently attached to either part as a stud? The bolt holes in the bracket on the front pipe side look like they have been enlarged so I might have to replace the pipe.
