Plate the outside of the "frame" from front bumper mounts back to lower control arm brackets and from rear lower brackets to back. Plate outside and bottom of rails from front control arm mounts to rear control arm mounts. Brace from front trac bar frame bracket to passenger side frame, and replace rad support with heavy duty version.

If not already done, replace the rocker panels with 1/4" steel.

2x4 1/4" steel for the rockers. Ends cut to angle of the wheelwells and capped.
I pity the person you're going to get to do your fab work on begged scrap steel instead of just biting the bullet and buying what you need to do the job properly.

Yup. In the bg picture, new steel is cheap. Will save hours in labour for whoever does the work.

That's for XJ's, Enos. ZJ's need 4x4, the rocker are taller and support are higher in the unibody under the doors. ......and it just so happens TDogg gave me 2 8' peices of 4x4x1/4" steel that he has forgotten about. I'm storing them for him after he got rid of some rusty WJ's a couple years ago. I will donate TDogg's steel back to the project! lol

Oh Ok then.
I remember it being really easy to use 4x4, the 4x4 clipped right into the trimmed out door pillars, and door thresh-hold welded down on top of it easy. One piece per side. Then just two really easy 2x2's back to subframe per side.
