I just received a pm from Enos regarding my dead fuel pump, if that's what it is...
Enos wrote: "Have you verified that your fuel pump relay is engaging? There is a way to jump across two of the connectors where the relay plugs in to make sure its working. We had to do this at the Jam to get mine running on Saturday morning, of course, the root cause of my problem was the failure of the computer. "
Does anyone in the area know how to do this??

The relay schematic is on the side of the relay, just looking at one of my spares and it looks like you need to jump 30 and 87 which would be the two outside ones going horizontal and vertical (not the two that are the same).

Is this necessary to check the relay?? I noticed that the horn relay is identical to the fuel pump relay...can I not just switch the two to find out??

seriously tho,
dont remove the filler neck from tank unless u have to. Unscrew the metal part up near the end where u put gas in. Itll separate from the plastic housing and u wont get dirt inside that way.
SUPPORT the tank with trolly jack preferably somehting with less chance oif tipping when tank is lowered. 3 ton type works good
unbolt skid from frame front & rear, shouldnt have to undo the straps holding the tank to skid.
Lower a bit until you can get at hose clamps on top of tank,
unplug electrical connections .
undo vent hoses from frame.
lower more checking clearances for filler neck
should drop out after that.
Good to have buddy to help steady tank and check for snags
Good luck man
Id be there if i wasnt HERE:D

Jumping those pins will verify that (or putting power direct from the battery to pin 87) the pump is not working, take the pressure off the fuel rail first and see if it comes back up.
Mine would work when jumped but not with a relay (any relay), but of course, my computer was fried (seemed to be lots of mud and crud on the cooling fins - go figure).
Also, take a good look at the wiring under there, you may have hooked it on something and have a loose connection. There should be a connector near the tank, you could supply power directly there to engage the pump too.
Just wanted to give you a couple of more options before you have to drop the tank.

Thanks a big bunch Enos...and Justin...and a SUPER HUGE THANK YOU! to Tony and Kim that gave me a call this evening asking if I would like them to come down and put a meter on the connector near the tank to narrow it down...shortly after supper Tony and Kim showed up with a meter and a nice lil' diagnostic thingy... after checking all the wires Kim hooked up the diagnostic thingy and turned the fuel pump on and low and behold we could hear the pump come on and the rail was full of gas and she fired right up...
So I guess my job should be so much easier, it should be a matter of checking all the wires, grounds and such...oh and I failed to mention that I snagged the four wires on a stump last summer breaking them all and putting them back together and taping it all back up...so this is prolly a good place to start tomorrow...
Tony and Kim are the true spirit of our club...they never miss an event and help out whenever they can...like tonight, coming all the way from Coldbrook just to give me a hand ;D
Thank you again Tony and Kim, you guys are the greatest!
Jeff (I was honestly worried I wouldn't have my TJ for Crazy French next week...I can't wait!)

So your a jeeping icon but not a mechanical/electrical icon. ;D J/K Glade it looks like an easier cheaper fix.
