the hard driving freezing cold rain just made the hangover that much sweeter! ;D yeah , it was fun. i can't post pics till i get home tho. like usual, the ZJ did better than expected for the weight/tire size, mike rolled, and Al's '5 lost a muffler. it poured rain pretty much the whole day at +1degree. cold!!! there was a fair bit of snow going in, and we were staying on top of the frozen puddles and holes. but on the way out, the ice had been rotting, mike was still zipping across, but me and Al were falling thru. the zj prob. weighs 3 times Mike's Zuk. i assume that's what he is talking about with the "keeping up" bit, because other than that i was hard on his tail. i did get some ok pics, my camera doesn't mind the rain.

my window was stuck up, i screwed the enterance. my big fat hood was in the way! ;D and further to that, driving home last nite from downtown - heard a huge bang and lost forward momentum. WTF? must be the t-case, it couldn't be the d44/detroit/one year old build with all new parts? noooo........so i put her in 4hi, and got moving......crazy bad grinding........then another huge bang, the zj lurches for the curb......fawk. what the hell. drove it home anyway, grinding popping lurching the whole 10 minutes to my parents. leave it there wallowing in it's own cess. so in the morning- today- broken front u-joint. a-ha! fix it with my spare shaft. go to pull away in 2wd. whirrrr!!!!. nothing. i can spin my rear d-shaft with both rear tires on the ground with a detroit. not good! so apparently i drove home on one front tire for power. no wonder it steered like shit. the bolts all backed out of the ring gear and the rear ate them. mudmagnet is looking for bolts for me, and we'll try to get it back together tommorrow. wish me luck. this is just like last christmas.......

thx for all the lookin mike.
i got some bolts from seaboard that are a bit too long, i can cut them with a grinder at al's.
i'm not letting this interfer with the vacation too much, i've only been picking at it. i'm going to pull the carrier now.
i might give you a buzz tonight mike.
thx again.
hey johnnie - if you got a d44 kicking around, i'll take the bolts out of it!
