i have an old mazda truck i've been fixing i noiticed a hairline crack in the frame and the rest of the frame is getting rusty still solid but rusty. i was wondering if it is possible to replate the frame and what it would cost to see if its even worth my while. a guy i know had his toyota frame redone from front to back for $200 made me think of the idea but the guy who did it isnt around anymore probably just end up patching the crack if its gonna to cost to much to get that done

i hope the mazda in question has a transfer case. just one crack? 1. clean up around it, then weld on an oval shaped patch. make the welds curved, or at an angle different from the crack. do not make the welds at right angles to the frame. 2. get a jeep! ;D

3- and drill a hole at the end of each crack before you weld it, that should stop the crack for going any futher.
4- get a jeep. ;D
