I'm thinking that I would like to have a good used ( cheap ) winch for the front of my beast, Might need a frame first. Any good used ( cheap ) winches out there??
P.S. never had anything to do with one before, only had my Jeep 6 months and got the jeepin bug alright.

"good" used winches have been runnning in the range of $250-400-600. ie used Warns.
you can get new Champion 8000lb at Costco for $400. most people are having good luck with them for occasional duty.
cheap and winch don't really go together. you will be looking at hundreds $$.

well cheap and winch do go together but only with " piece of @#^#" in between them

Hey Myles... I am going to have a brand new in the box Champion winch for sale in the next week or two if you are interested... I'm going to be asking $400. and it comes with everything you need...winch, mounting plate, roller fairlead, cable, hook and even a snatch block...oh and I may even throw in a used soft cover for the winch. Costco sells them for $400.+tax

Yepp they're replacing it...so I figured I'll sell it while it's new in the box and get a bigger/better one...

Jeff, might I sugest for you a 50 ton model from a D9 CAT!! I think companies should hire you to endurance test their stuff before selling it. Jeffs plays very,very hard!!!!

I would like to find an 8274...I was also looking at some of the Hydrolic winches...any thoughts on them??

I thought about the hydraulics ones before buying Warn, even got a video here somewhere of the MileMarker. Only thing is they are useless if you stall out and they are slow - but no battery drain.
