As posted in HFX.FORSALE:
I am looking for a large Hex socket for removing and installing the 2 3/8" wheel bearing nut on my Dana front axle (Ford Bronco II XLT 2.9 V6, 4x4) Something used in the $10.00 range.
This socket is NOT available at Cdn Tire either for sale or for tool loan-out.
Princess Auto also does not carry it. I have found it at a couple of auto parts outlets however they are selling for over $30.00. I will only be using it for myself and I was hoping to purchase it from someone who no longer needs it in their toolbox for $10-$15.
Thanx for your input and suggestions.

Here's what I did before I got tired of the ttb and swapped a cherokee axle in:
Remove with hammer and chisel.
On the smaller diameter part that the auto hub stuff fits over, make 2 flat spots with a grinder, on opposite sides.
Presto, you can now use an adjustable wrench.
BTW: A standard hex socket won't fit over it, the shape is unique.
-Neil
You can also try borrowing it from a Ford dealership......

Last of the hijack posts! Heres a pic, the suspension is a la Jan's Grand. I came out with 'medium' arms though, compared to his super longs... I customed the steering and trac bar, and it's also a 7 inch lift. If you have any questions about it, we can start a thread in the fab section. -Neil

NICE. I'm not sure I'll be doing anything more to this rig. Depends on how the body looks in the spring. Also, I'm into the TTB suspension mods for a bit already so swapping to a real axle would be kinda rough to justify. 4" skyjacker-
