I like the early June. takes that long to finish building junk all winter. great start to the wheelin season. easy to get vacation. i don't care about ticks or the cold nites.
i think of it as the "season opener", a tradition - even if we can go wheelin whenever we like.
a smaller event in the height of summer would be cool. backcountry camping, no services.
early fall event should happen, NSJC or not. lots of interest for an event at that time of year.

Early fall... Now that would be an excellent choice for Jam... Mid - late Sept when the weather is still good and the colours are starting...

Before camping season is probaly best due to the fact we get the run of the campground and no seasonal campers there to complain about us, they are very quick to complain about noise and dust....off course we do not create any of that....lol....but with out the campground there is no Jam.

I agree a early fall event would be great in Cape Breton and a chance to get to different trails

A camping trip would rock, maybe here www.ifdn.com/unique/france/main.htmI was there this summer quite a bit of space and roads forever. Also have another spot in mind not far from Hamilton trail ( beachfront!) Or we could camp on the curse to keep the fellas fixing their stuff at night from getting lonely!

There was talk a few years ago about doing the Old Annapolis trail from the Valley to the south shore. I've got a cottage on the south shore end, and a house for that matter. Both have fire pits and lots of room for camping. I know a few other places that would be good for rough camping. June is early enough to force you to get your junk ready for the wheeling season. I know I'll end up doing some last minute stuff before Jam. It's not getting done right now! Nothing like getting tipsy after wheeling at jam and throwing half a cord of wood in the fire to keep warm. Actually it's the highlight of the Jam, liquor, heat and friends. Good times.

We pick a Month, date, and place. Head out Friday afternoon. Camp Friday, Wheel Saturday, Party Saturday night, Get up Sunday and head for home. ;D Roy

Yes I have, and there has only been one year when any amount of people came from the Halifax Chapter (some years very few from Valley either!). Lots of people always talk about wanting to do runs like this, but the Jam is the only one that gets a good turnout. Hmmm, maybe I should start charging a fee.

Don't think that'll work Alan, try free Beer. That may bring them. ;D
