I will agree that the -3B isn't the best looking flat fender Jeep, but honestly, I don't mind it, and you have to remember they did it solely to put their better, more powerful F-head engine under the hood if someone was looking to get rid of one, I'd take it, and stuff a big engine in there, cuz it would fit.

BUMP! So, work has been progressing on the FJ-5. We de-clocked the transfercase and I made a new front driveshaft. Then we tackled the running issue, and Rob finally nailed the problem as a bad coil. Changed that, boom, runs like a champ. So we've been rolling along with making things work. Rob tackled replacing all the questionable looking wires with fresh ones, and replacing anything to do with the ignition with 10 ga. I fabbed a quick coil bracket for the new coil, resuing the old tabs from the mallory coil I also added some more paint detailing for the added Pimp factor Finally, We installed the Tach, Rob rewired all the switches so it turns off again (had an issue with that after troubleshooting), wired the existing volt gauage, put in a charge light, and installed a new starter button (much beefier). So it now starts on the first bump, idles at 1000 rpm or so, will drive. Just need to install the new temp and oil pressure gauges, and probably throw in the 6-cyl rad I got to be safe. Just need to get some taillights installed, maybe wire the headlights, and it'll be ready for a trail test

That was a sweet coil mount you made Now we need one for the fuel filter so it isn't sitting on top of the intake... btw: Anyone looking for switches, sending units or general CJ wiring harness stuff we have a box of it... We are running on bare minimum for wiring. pm me with a pic if you need something.

Excellent man. Why'd you end up de-clocking the t-case?

Excellent man. Why'd you end up de-clocking the t-case? James With the t-case flat, the front driveshaft had about 1/2-1/4" room from the bell housing and starter. It was not enough, LOL. Now we have about 2.5", and the case only hangs down about 1" from the bottom of the framerail. We looked at other solutions, but nothing really gave me the warm & fuzzy feeling. Just had to hack the t-case crossmember to get this to work.

Sounds like its ready for the Curse this weekend? C'mon!!!!!! LOL, Rob and I were tossing that idea around... be one hell of a shakedown run for it anyway... I do have spare birfs... Power steering box leaks like a sieve tho, probably have to bring a 50 gallon bucket of ATF.... plus I don't want to slow everybody else down, we'd probably just do bowl & back... I dunno.... maybe??

Let's see what other work we can get done by the weekend. Are we going on Wednesday night? Need to install the 6cyl rad, temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, tighten down a few bolts and maybe take a run up the atv trail... should be doable. This will be version 0.5beta if we make it lol

Frig, I more often run my CJ after major mods (and no test drive) than not. Git that thing out there this weekend. i will personally tow your broken ass out if it fails.
what kind of box do you need? Toy or CJ?
