I will look at a set when the ATs wear out. The ATs are about 350.00 each.

Best wearing tires I've used are Michelin LTX MS. Had them on past vehicles and now on the Grand and Dakota. I drive in all kinds of weather and these are the best all around tire I've ever had. With a properly aligned truck and tight front end you can get 80K out of these. One thing I've noticed is some sizes have a different tread pattern like the 17's on the Grand. When I got them I thought by looking at them they would suck but were fine last winter. The big advantage to these over winters is you can use them year round and still have good winter traction. I bet the 17's don't come in white letter. BFG AT's are good too. I wouldn't be concerned about E rated tires, you're not actually putting much weight on the truck itself. My coworker has a Dodge 2500 diesel, he ruined a set of BFG AT's in less than a year, I looked a few days ago and the fronts are bald, he got them late last year. Not the tire's fault. I'd go with the LTX AT before the MS. The AT has a more aggressive tread, and still wears like iron. I used to run them on my Dakota.

In September I bought a set of ProComp AT's. The thread is well sipped and similar to the BFG AT. They are my first set so I have no first hand experience on how they will wear, but ProComp advertises they'll last 50,000 miles. Price-wise, they're a little cheaper than BFG's. www.procomptires.com/truck-jeep-tires/radial-all-terrain.aspxI have a set of Procomp AT's and I believe they're Load Rated E but I haven't yet done any towing with them . That's one of the reasons I bought them, and the 50,000 kms rating too. When I had a local trailer shop install a hitch on my tow rig it was recommended that I increase my tire pressure or get Load Rated E tires to lessen the sway in my back end. I believe them. As for tire lettering on the outside, a friend of mine said it best, the Eighties are over!
