Yeah, I know, its heavy tech, but this thing went in so slick I had to share So, this what the "right Person" got: Time to install. So, this generation of Dodge, 1 screw, and the whole centre dash panel falls off. And behind the heater controls is: Nothing. Perfect Mount the base unit here: 2 small holes for the 2 screws & nuts (plus a little lock-tite to keep it good) 1 big hole to run the mic wire and: Overall look: Wiring. The lower cig lighter is constant 12V, so a quick tap, and a solid gound on an existing screw to the floor: External speaker instaled in glovebox. plenty loud Mag-mount antenna on the roof: And final interior shot: When I unhook the mic, I can tuck the wire into the under-radio pocket, and there's no evidence. Slick

And i always thought it was the size of the screw A common misconception. Its more important to use a high-impact driver and the correct torque.

I do believe a random torque screw is a better quality screw ;D

that's alright Mike. but why didn't you make a solid mount thru the dash for the mic plug? didn't want a hole? wouldn't the speaker have fit under the dash too? in the glovebox it will be just as muffled as if it were behind the dash. i find the placement kinda wierd.

Bingo, I wanted no evidence that there was a radio in the truck to the common passer-by. Due to the nature of where I live, its better that way Speaker under the dash, well, I didn't want to drill any holes, plus under the dash is just going to be a knee knocker for me or my passengers. In the little bit of testing I've done, its not muffled at all. I don't know what that says about the Dodge interior build quality tho

It's an awesome thing to have a CB in the tow rig.
