Are there any tricks to getting an axle out of a non c clip dana 35 ? I haven't tried a slide hammer yet or is this the only way? Thanks Bruce

I just usually take pry bar and wedge between backin plate and backside of the axle flange. pulling usually helps more than pushing in this situation. Make sure all 4 nuts are off the plate that holds it all in b4 doin so!!! But u knew that already right..... May take some effort if they havnt been changed recently. Justin

Another way... Take the brake drum, flip it around and but a few lug nuts on by a couple threads. Pull back on drum like a slide hammer.

Might want to make sure you took all 5 nuts off, not just 4! I had one apart monday, axles just slid out by hand.

The plate with dust seal on it that bolts to the axle tube only has 4 bolts .

I guess they must have made 4 bolt and 5 bolt ones, though I've never seen a 4 bolt one.

I'd mount some 35s and go wheelin'; that would dis-lodge the bugger.lol Ugh Actually I'd go w/Bill on the reverse drum idea.

I usually use 2 lugnuts opposite each other to attach a 2ft chain then wrap the chain around an old rotor. This is bootyfab slide hammer but works everytime. Then use a blow hammer to place back in the axle.
