Nice diesel in a TJ rubicon.
I'd sell everything I own to have it. Collect bottles if I had to. Actually no... but....I'd consider it.

Duane, I thought i remember someone telling me they sell/sold a XJ Diesel overseas? Its a Jeep of some sort anyway.... Ask John, im sure he knows! J.

Duane, I thought i remember someone telling me they sell/sold a XJ Diesel overseas? Its a Jeep of some sort anyway.... Ask John, im sure he knows! J. Yes the XJ was sold as a Diesel but with a Renault engine initally. The Cherokee referred to here is in fact the Liberty as that is known a Cherokee outside North America. For Europe all the Jeeps have a diesel engine available. John

I think these guys have VM's avilable which fit the "old" style Cherokee - our Cherokee - that came with a diesel option overseas, I thought.

Duanne, the VM was used in later versions of the XJ but the first was the Renault since Renault owned a large chunk of AMC before Chrysler bought Jeep. However I do not know which tranny is/was behind the VM diesel in the XJ John

They used two types of trannys in Canada /ax15 & the 999 auto. I have driven both and the auto is boring . I think you could get them with the Renault coal burner from 85 to 87 / the ax15 came with a Dana 44 in the rear / have not had one in the shop in 3 years . Very hard to find parts now!
