So to use the phrase du jour... All y'all know what I mean - seems every time you turn around, your rig "needs" something else. Whether this is real, like my new coil, or imagined, like the new bumper I "need", is irrelevant - let's hear the State of our Jeeping Union. I'll start off - this follows my "almost grabbed my gun" thread... Turns out it's the coil - when the coil suspects dampness, it goes south on me. The guys at the shop used a squirt bottle to mist water around the thing after getting it inside - notice it started fine to enter the building...then NADA. Dampness = death for my coil it seems...oh well... Eagle eye Matt deserves a nod - you all may keep this in mind the next time you wonder if he's a good mechanic - I say he's tops - seems while doing a routine "inspect the ignition crap" that goes with diagnosing my malady, Ol' Matty Spectacles notices that my 4.0 has the wrong spark plugs installed...hmmmm Upon doing my much needed oil change, the acknowledged Master Of Fluids, Matt, noticed my rear diff fluid is sullied with water from our New Year's Day run. Somewhere in this is a new gas tank sending unit too (thanks Big6)... Now, let's start on the real list of needs - ~ Steel plating needed to fix that hole in the "frame-rail" ~ Aux cooling fan which needs installing and wiring ~ Skid plates - all ~ Wiered noises when in 4-HI at low speeds - possible shift fork issue, maybe an axle joint, maybe the chain...who knows. ~ Rocker panels...you know, the usual... ~ No dome lights...bummer ~ B3 bumpers - naturally...
