I am looking to buy a recovery strap, I made an early mistake and bought a tow strap (with the hooks) from P.A. and will NOT use it because of comments on the board from those who know.
Question is , is 2' enough, and is 3' overkill?. Are Princess Auto straps okay for everyone or are ther any better sugestions as to where to get one. I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks Randy

PA straps are fine... 2" is good, 3" is better. I've got both. I generally get more use out of the 3" as it's shorter and stronger. Get them when they're on sale. Bridgeport Wire and Rope also is a good place to purchase.

You are looking for a minimum of 20,000lbs strength rating and the words recovery strap. This indicates that it has some stretch unlike a tow strap or tie down strap that have no stretch.

Post up if you find a deal, I'm in the market for one also (3", 30,000lb), seems I have 2 15 foot straps now after lending my strap to some guys to try and pull out a 1 ton U-haul with a 5 ton U-haul (figured it was better than the nylon rope they were going to use). The guy with the 5 ton was a bit heavy on the skinny pedal. Oh well, I needed a new one anyway.
