thanks very much! man that's a long haul on your experiment. I would like to keep this up for a year but i know right after the weigh in im going to have to treat myself to something greasy and salty. good work on keeping it up this long! Yep, but it just becomes a lifstyle after doing it for so long. Started at 350-ish and a tight 46" waist when I weighed myself last summer, now down to 260-ish (and none of my pants fit anymore ) after starting this in November of 2009. Eating right, no pop, no junk food for 6 months (I had a burger after Jam to celebrate getting stuff done, LOL). I started tracking calories vs activity level on the Livestrong website, listened to the advice Smith and Rod gave me, and got the results. 2011 I'm planning to join a gym and keep going until I'm south of 200. Biggest difference? I can now spend a day on the trail walking around and not be winded after 10 minutes. Feels awesome ;D

Well a dude on an older season of the ultimate fighter, went and got a few of those colon blasts from a licenced place, apparently he lost 10-15 extra pounds because of all the S!@# up in there.. Might be worth checking out....

i dropped the ball on the diet last night. it was my brothers birthday, there were boxes of M&M meats h'ors d'ourves (sp?) and cake. I did good with the finger foods, but the cake OMG the cake. I absolutely love pound cake i've never really been a big fan but last night it was something magical. I had two squares. They were small portions as i did have some will power left but i really only should have had one.
I woke up 4 pounds heavier this morning and that was after going on a 5.5km jog last night, i have a feeling ill quickly burn it off but it got me to thinking, was it really worth it for 10 minutes of absolute deliciousness? when it will potentially take me 2 or 3 days of hard work to burn it off? well, actually it was and that has made me realize something. I used to eat so much sweet, salty and greasy foods that i didn't really appreciate how incredibly tasty they were, when i took one bite of that cake last night my taste buds went absolutely ape shit i could taste every aspect of the cake, from the texture of the pound cake to the slight lemon flavour and the soft scent of vanilla in the icing.
I have now come to appreciate food.

The secret weapon for the 2-3 days before the weigh in, who knew Zellers sold such a thing? also, opinions needed here please, does one go commando? or underwear only or does this go over clothes? under clothes? if the best results require commando then that's fine with me i am just worried about chaffing.

I heard of one guy who died by wearing one of those while pedalling a stationary bike, INSIDE a sauna. He had a heart attack. But that was extreme. Just be careful. Severe dehydration can mess up your body's electrolyte levels. Your body will have a severe fluid loss, which, I think, is the definition of 'shock'.

I can't comment on the effectiveness of the sauna suit as a means of cutting weight. I imagine it works well seeing as how the MMA fighters seem to have lots of success with it.....but I can only assume that what we see on shows like the Ultimate Fighter is completely supervised by medical staff.
As a nurse, I would be concerned with someone actively dehydrating themselves just as Wayne said because of electrolyte imbalances. Electrolytes regulate many things in our body and massive fluid shifts can cause a whole host of problems from pretty minor things to death.
I am not trying to tell you what to do at all.....just please make sure someone knows you are cutting weight like this especially if something happens. And if you feel "funny" or "not yourself", please stop and rest.
Good luck with the rest of the weight loss. You have done great so far!

i agree with you both, and i appreciate your care and concerns. It certainly isn't my intention to lose 10 or 15 pounds in fluid loss but simply release some of the bloat from drinking excessive water for the past 55 days. i assume i may drop 2-5 pounds over the 2 days before the weigh in but nothing durastic like MMA or boxing. i definitely will not be exercising in a sauna suit inside of a sauna that's just pure insanity.

Well Ladies and Gentlemen who have followed this thread for the past 51 days, thank you. This will be my last weekly update until Tuesday after the official weigh in. I will also provide an updated picture as well. This morning; 4 days before the do or die day (hopefully not literally but completely possible) i weighed in at 192.5 matching my lowest weight in the last 7 years. I feel that in itself is a great accompliment. that's a total of 13.09% or 29 pounds. Id love to hit the 15% mark by the weigh in as i think that would really solidify my win. All that's left now is to start with the cutting regimen and let the cards fall where they may.
