I have a 4000 watt one and it ran my MigPac 10 welder with no problems. You have to use 2 batts tho.

I have an APC power filter I use with my generator, it doesn't have a battery backup but cleans the power. Good idea, most inverters supply a square wave AC output suitable for most devices. I don't know what output comes out of a generator. I have a 4000 watt one and it ran my MigPac 10 welder with no problems. You have to use 2 batts tho. Wow, I never considered running a welder or any power tool off of an inverter but I suppose it could be done with a high power inverter & a dual battery setup.

I had a 1500w but it wouldn't run my 1hp air compressor - so I sold them both; it would run any other power tool I plugged in though
